Family Visa

The Family Visa is a short-term visa category, which requires a visit to the UK by parents and siblings, visits to look after spouses and children, and requesting travel with second-degree relatives. However, people can apply for a Long-Term UK visa if they provide proof of the reason for their regular travel to the UK. For a long-term UK visa, a 1-year-2-year-5-year-10-year UK Family Visit Visa application is available. However, the right to stay in the country with long-term UK visas is maximum 6 months. It is compulsory to leave the UK at the end of 6 months.

How to apply for a Family Visa?

In order to travel to the UK for family visit, people must apply for a family visa. Diplomatic passport holders are exempt from UK family visit visa procedures for their travel not exceeding 90 days within 180 days. The UK family visit visa does not qualify for Schengen visa status. The UK family visit visa does not allow entry to Schengen countries. Likewise, it is not possible to travel to the UK on a Schengen visa. Family visit visa applicants must apply for a visa no more than 3 months ago. You will be notified of the possible rejection or acceptance decision regarding your visa application within 3 weeks. Before the physical application requirements for a UK Family Visit Visa are met, the online UK Visa Application Form must be filled out by creating an account from the “Register an Account” section of the official website through the visa category to be applied for. All questions on the online UK visa application, which support the visa type option and the UK travel purpose, must be answered in English.

Documents for Family Visa

In addition to the original documents that must be prepared for family visa application procedures, copies of them must be present. In order for the visa application to be examined by the UK Border Agency visa officer, all supporting documents that are not in English must be submitted together with the translation. In translated documents, the interpreter’s name, contact address and confirmation that it has been translated in accordance with its origin are important. Each translation document must have a date and the signature of the translator.
