Permanent Residence

The Ankara Agreement is the most important basis for obtaining a UK residence permit. However, of course some special conditions are required for people who will apply. In other words, just because there is an Ankara Agreement, you are not likely to be accepted into the UK unconditionally. Those who leave the country on a visa can apply for a Permanent Residence before the end of their visa period. Those who stay in the country for more than 90 days must receive a UK visa.

How to apply for UK Permanent Residence?

People who want to go to the UK and live with one of their family members for longer than 6 months must obtain UK session leave. In order to apply for a residence permit, you must have a spouse, partner, fiancée, child, parent or a relative with whom you wish to live in the UK. Applications for session leave will be finalized in approximately 12 weeks. However, if you do not meet the minimum income requirements, do not speak enough English, if you have been ordered to be called for an interview or if you have a record in your criminal record, your Permanent Residence may be extended and the consulate may contact you. The Ankara Agreement, which plans to set up its own business in the UK or provides employment in the status of workers, provides the legal basis for the European Community union agreement signed between the Republic of Turkey and the European Community in 1963 and the Additional Protocol signed in 1970 41.
